Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how FieldPOV, Inc. (“FieldPOV,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit our website, apply to become an operator, use our app and camera kit, and submit footage. FieldPOV operates in the United States only.
By using FieldPOV, you agree to this Policy. It should be read together with our Terms of Service.
1. Information you give us
When you apply and enroll, you provide information directly to us, including:
- Application details: your full name, email address, phone number (optional), city or market, the trades you work in, and your years of experience.
- Enrollment and shipping details: the mailing address we use to send your kit.
- Payment details: the account information needed to pay you, which is handled by our payment processor.
- Communications: messages you send us by email, text, or through the app, and the contents of those communications.
2. Footage and recordings you submit
As an operator, you record first-person video of your trade work and choose which clips to submit. This footage is the core of our service.
- Our kit is designed to blur personally identifiable information on your device before footage is uploaded, and audio is off by default.
- Every clip lands in your app first so you can watch, trim, or delete it. Nothing is uploaded until you approve and submit it.
- Submitted footage may include images of work areas, materials, tools, and surroundings, along with technical data such as timestamps and motion or device data captured by the kit.
We use, process, and license submitted footage as described in our Terms of Service, including to build and license de-identified datasets for training and evaluating artificial intelligence and robotics systems.
3. Information we collect automatically
When you visit our website or use our app, we automatically collect certain technical and usage information, including:
- Device and log data such as IP address, browser type, operating system, and pages or screens you view.
- Usage analytics about how you interact with our site and app, collected through PostHog, our analytics provider.
- Cookies and similar technologies used for authentication, preferences, and analytics.
- Marketing attribution data such as referral URLs and campaign parameters (for example utm_source and advertising click identifiers) that tell us which ad or link brought you to us.
4. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Review applications, enroll operators, ship kits, and run the program.
- Process and license footage and operate, maintain, and improve our platform.
- Calculate and make payments, and meet tax and recordkeeping obligations.
- Communicate with you about your application, kit, payouts, and support requests.
- Measure the performance of our marketing and understand which sources bring qualified operators.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security issues, and violations of our Terms.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run FieldPOV:
- Service providers who work on our behalf, including hosting and database providers, our analytics provider (PostHog), our email provider (Resend), our scheduling provider (Calendly), shipping carriers, and our payment processor. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
- Customers and partners who license footage. Footage we license is de-identified and provided as a dataset; we do not provide your name, contact details, or payment information as part of those datasets.
- Legal and safety: when required by law, to respond to legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of FieldPOV, our operators, or others.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and analytics tools to operate the site, remember your preferences, and understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the site works. Our analytics requests may be routed through our own domain so that they are more reliably delivered, but they are still used only for the purposes described here.
7. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the service, run the program, and meet legal, tax, and recordkeeping obligations, after which we delete or de-identify it. Because submitted footage may be incorporated into licensed datasets and used to train models, de-identified footage and the datasets derived from it may be retained indefinitely and cannot be recalled once licensed or used for training.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to update your contact and payment details, by emailing support@fieldpov.com. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in those emails, and opt out of text messages by replying STOP. Deleting your account does not require us to recall footage that has already been de-identified, licensed, or used to train models.
California residents
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, including the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request access to or deletion of your personal information, to correct inaccurate information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@fieldpov.com.
10. Children
FieldPOV is for adults. We do not direct our services to anyone under 18 and do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Third-party links
Our site and app may link to third-party services, such as our scheduling provider. Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of FieldPOV after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
